Participating Members

Membership in SAC is at the facility level.  If you would like to participate, but are unsure of which or how many facilities, we invite all interested members to join now with a one-time first year application fee. By joining, you agree to meet the commitments of the SAC, and submit participating facility information form(s) within one year, and pay the applicable annual membership fee.

If you are ready to fill out the Individual Facility Application please do so and return the completed form to us, with the applicable membership fee.

Frequently Asked Questions

Participating members join at one of three membership levels.

Participating Non-Industrial Member (Level 1) is for nonindustrial entities that wish to work to improve their social or environmental performance, and seek membership within SAC to assist them in these efforts.

Participating Industrial Member (Levels 2-3) is the industrial/commercial category that is further divided into two tiers: Level 2 and Level 3. Level 2 organizations are working to implement and EMS; Level 3 organizations have a functioning EMS in place. Both set and report on goals for improvement in the social or environmental categories.

Alliance Members

The Alliance category is open to states, academic institutions, social investment companies and environmental/social advocacy organizations, at no fee. Note: Environmental and social advocacy involves both protecting people and the natural world. Advocates organize a group around a cause and work to implement changes that have a lasting and positive effect. Alliance Members commit to actively work with Participating Members to further the goals of the organization.  While there is no fee for Alliance Members, Alliance Members commit to participate on a work group and donate their time to assist in the meeting of SAC’s organizational goals. Complete the Commitment Form to become a member.
