Fall Meeting A Success

The Stewardship Action Council held their first annual fall meeting concurrent with the National Safety Council's Conference in Philadelphia in November.  The event featured several SAC focused sessions, a members reception and dinner, and a members meeting.  Minutes are available on the Members Only portion of the SAC website.

Door Prize - Rachael Carson Signed First Edition Copy of Silent Spring

Renee Stephens of Schneider Electric was the lucky winner of the Stewardship Action Council's door prize, a signed first edition copy of Rachaels Carsons's Silent Spring.  The book, donated by Frank Priznar of Prizim, Inc, was awarded to Renee at the SAC Member's Reception during the fall meeting.  The book was presented to Renee by Frank, who stated "SAC's vision of creating a sustainable world through collaboration of ideas and ideals is aligned with my values and the values of my company, PRIZIM Inc. I am pleased to work with the organization to disseminate these principles through Carson's crucial work. We are all responsible for serving as stewards of the earth's resources, and I hope that donating this original first edition of Silent Spring will function as inspiration for both the recipient and for all of us who believe in speaking up, making a difference, and accepting responsibility for the critical work that lies ahead of us."

New Member Benefits!  SAC has added a list of tools that our members have recommended to the members only portion of the website.  If you have a web based tool that you use and think highly of, let us know and we will add it to the list.

Coming soon to the Members Only Portion of the SAC Website: BMP of the Month

We will be featuring a BMP (Beneficial Management Practice) of the month.  The highlighted practice will be rotated on a monthly basis to enable us to feature as many of the good practices of our members as we can.  Please take a minute to complete the BMP form for any that you have not yet submitted and send them in.  They will be added to the online data base and put in the queue to be featured.  Email Charlotte for the BMP template.

Level 4 Subwork Group Calls Happening Now

The Level 4 sub work groups have begun the process of identifying those topics to be included in the SAC Sustainability Index, our organizational membership level.  We have four work groups each of which are meeting once a month - environmental, social, economic and governance.  Interested in participating?  Contact Anne Vogel-Marr.

If there are topics that you would like to have be the focus of a webinar, let us know by contacting Eli Golfer, chair of the Learning Network Work Group, or Anne Vogel-Marr

The Sharing and Recognizing Work Group is working to finalize the template for the First SAC Annual Report, being prepared in time to be shared at the Spring Members Meeting. If you would like to assist in the drafting of this report please contact Myra Carpenter, Chair of the Sharing and Recognizing Outcomes Work Group, or Anne Vogel-Marr.
