Level 4 Subwork Group Calls Happening Now

The Level 4 subwork groups have begun the process of identifying those topics to be included in the SAC Sustainability Index, our organizational membership level.  We have four work groups each of which are meeting once a month - environmental, social, economic and governance.  Interested in participating?  Contact Anne Vogel-Marr.

Upcoming Webinars

In 2012, SAC's goal is to host a webinar every other month. Our January webinar - Energy Reduction/Savings - presented by Vicki Fisher - was a great success. Our March Webinar, being coordinated by Mark McDermid, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, will focus on Making Great Energy Savings Ideas Realities. This a one hour webinar will provide a brief description of energy efficiency ideas ranging from the use of solar to preheat process water for a small manufacturer, to integration of building systems to yield comprehensive energy savings and the tracking to go along with it. This will be an interactive webinar with significant opportunity to engage with the people who make change happen.  Stay tuned for the date, time and the full list of presenters for the webinar.

Two of our Alliance Members, the Pollution Prevention Resource Exchange (P2Rx), and the National Pollution Prevention Roundtable (NPPR), are hosting a webinar in February on Design for the Environment. This is one in a series of free webinars offered through the NPPR Lean and Environment workgroups. The webinar will occur on Tuesday, Feb 21st, 2012, at 3:00 pm EST, 2:00 pm CST, 1:00 p.m. MST, 12:00 pm PST. There is no need to register for this webinar. SAC Annual Report in Preparation

The first SAC Annual Report is being prepared, and will be available at the Spring members meeting.  The report will feature an overview of SAC's first year - our mission, vision, goals, activities, and accomplishments, as well as a page highlighting each of our Alliance and Participating Members.

New Member Benefits!

SAC has added a list of tools that our members have recommended to the members only portion of the website.  If you have a web based tool that you use and think highly of, let us know and we will add it to the list.

Coming soon to the Members Only Portion of the SAC Website: BMP of the Month

We will be featuring a BMP (Beneficial Management Practice) of the month.  The highlighted practice will be rotated on a monthly basis to enable us to feature as many of the good practices of our members as we can.  Please take a minute to complete the BMP form for any that you have not yet submitted and send them in.  They will be added to the online data base and put in the queue to be featured.  Email Charlotte for the BMP template.

Member Testimonials Added to Website

SAC has received many positive comments from our members, and is now posting these to our website.  Member testimonials received will be rotated on our website, allowing members to share their thoughts on the value of participating in SAC.  Have a thought? Send it to Charlotte

Work Group Updates

The Learning Network Work Group has been meeting to continue to identify areas of interest to members for future webinars. Two more topics have been identified and are in the planning stages for February and March. If there are topics that you would like to have be the focus of a webinar, let us know by contacting Eli Golfer, chair of the Learning Network Work Group, or Anne Vogel-Marr

The Sharing and Recognizing Work Group is working to finalize the template for the First SAC Annual Report, being prepared in time to be shared at the Spring Members Meeting. If you would like to assist in the drafting of this report please contact Myra Carpenter, Chair of the Sharing and Recognizing Outcomes Work Group, or Anne Vogel-Marr.

The Member Development Work Group is soliciting testimonials from current members. The testimonials will be presented on the home page of the SAC website. A template to collect the testimonials has been prepared and is available; email Charlotte for a copy.
